As organizations adopt and migrate infrastructure to the cloud, data outside the cloud starts to gravitate to those applications running in the cloud. As more data is pulled closer to that infrastructure this increasing amount of information has the potential to reduce application latency and increase business efficiencies, ultimately having a positive impact on the end user’s experience. The idea of transforming operations through the use and placement of data is evolutionary, and while some production workloads still remain ineligible for the cloud, AWS, Google, Microsoft and others continue to refine what data storage and analysis mean. Now more than ever it makes more sense for enterprises to move more workloads and applications to the cloud.
